Shelley’s Belleys Birth Support

Pre-Natal Visits

In addition to an initial interview, I’d love to meet with you at least twice before the big day: once to go over your birth plan and the next to meet your care provider at one of your prenatal appointments. This way we can present your birth plan for consideration and confirmation together. My hope is to develop a familiarity and trust between each of us during this time. Of course, if you would like to get together more often before your estimated due date to prepare for your birth, I will make that a priority.

Birth Attendance

When you are 37 weeks pregnant I am on call for you in anticipation of your birth. When we have determined that you are in early labor, you may choose to have me come to your home before going to the hospital or birth center.  During labor, I will stay with you through every contraction, through every push and will never leave your side until your baby has bonded with you. I offer my words, my prayers, birth affirmations, massages, hip squeezes, acupressures, oils, rebozo-sifting, TENS unit, and my trusty purple peanut ball. I take notes during your labor and I will make sure the birth team knows your wishes via your birth plan. This is your birth, your body, your baby, so you are the boss!

      Postpartum

The final benefit included in my doula services is at least one postpartum visit at your home. This usually happens within the first week after your birth and is just to make sure the “babymoon” is going smoothly, to help with breastfeeding if necessary, and to reminisce and process your birth story. I also bring homemade lactation cookies to you breastfeeding mamas! Of course, if you have any questions during your postpartum period, I am happy to answer them, so please feel free to reach out to me.

      My Fees

It is my belief that financial limitations should never preclude a mother from having a doula. Please click the link below for additional information on my fees.
