Shelley’s Belleys Birth Support
Pre-Natal Visits
After we first connect I leave it up to each family as to how often and where we meet, whether it be virtually or in person at your home, at a coffee shop or at one of your prenatal appointments. If you desire to work on a birth plan together I can help you with that so we can present it to your care provider at one of your prenatal appointments. My hope is to develop a familiarity and trust between us and your provider during this time. I’m available 24/7 during your pregnancy via phone if you need any resources, encouragement or prayer, or if you have any questions leading up to birth.
Birth Attendance
When you start noticing any signs of labor that is when you would reach out to me so that I can prepare to be available for you when labor starts. When we have determined together that your labor has started you may choose to have me come to your home before going to the hospital or birth center, or to of course stay if you are having a home birth. During labor I will stay with you through every contraction, through every push and will never leave your side until your baby has bonded with you. I offer my words, my prayers, birth affirmations, massages, hip squeezes, acupressures, oils, rebozo-sifting, TENS unit, labor combs, and whatever else you may need that is in my doula bag. I take notes during your labor and I will make sure the birth team knows your wishes via your birth plan. This is your birth, your body, your baby, so you are the boss!
Postpartum
The final benefit included in my doula services is one follow-up postpartum visit at your home. Once you have rested and bonded with your baby and are ready for my company we will schedule a time for me to come over to make sure the “babymoon” is going smoothly, to help with breastfeeding if necessary, and to reminisce and process your birth story. I also bring my homemade lactation cookies to you breastfeeding mamas! Of course, if you have any questions any time during your postpartum period, I am happy to answer them, so please feel free to reach out to me.
My Fees
It is my belief that financial limitations should never preclude a mother from having a doula. Everyone’s budget and birth is different so most families pay me what they can afford and according to how their births went after the birth of their babies, usually at our follow-up postpartum visit.
My Forms
Please click the link below to download my PDF intake packet. You can fill it out on your computer and email it back to me or print it out and bring it with you to one of our prenatal visits. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
