A Note on My Upcoming Schedule

Supporting families during their most sacred transitions is a joy I never take for granted. To ensure I can continue showing up fully for this work, I want to share an update regarding my upcoming availability.

I am currently accepting new clients with due dates through April 2026. Following April, I will be taking a one-year sabbatical to rest and recharge.

If you are expecting this winter or early spring, I would love to connect. If your journey falls during my break, I’m happy to announce that I will be starting a co-op with my hand-picked doulas who will be available to provide doula services while I’m away. More info on that coming soon!

WHY THE SALTY DOULA?

Not only is Shelley a trained and certified doula, but she has also birthed seven babies of her own, in her home and at a hospital. Combining both her training and personal experiences, in addition to serving over 900 families since 2013, she'll help you with your journey and transition into motherhood.

HER TRAINING

Shelley is certified by AWWS (A Woman Who Serves) and continues to educate herself by understanding the latest trends in maternal healthcare as it is key to being a valuable doula, and she continues to learn from mothers, midwives, nurses and doctors at each birth she attends.

HER PROMISE

Shelley is available 24/7 to answer any questions you may have during your pregnancy and will not leave you during your birth. Because she believes that birth is as much a spiritual experience as it is physical and emotional, she commits to pray daily for you and your baby throughout this journey into motherhood.

HER PROMISE

My role as your doula

Doula is a Greek word that means “servant” and I am here to serve you during your pregnancy, labor, and birth. As I serve you, I promise to support you in how YOU want to birth your baby. I will take your lead and equip you with the information you need to communicate with your care provider. Because I am not a medical professional, I can not diagnose or treat any medical needs you may have. However, 70% of the births I attend are in hospital settings, so I have experience alongside health professionals and have learned that my role with them has healthy boundaries.
